THE BANARASI STORY
EVERY FAMILY KEEPS ONE SAREE.
A Banarasi is never just an outfit. It's a memory, a milestone and a piece of home - woven in gold and grace, meant to live beyond one generation.

CLASSIC WEAVES, MODERN GRACE, CHERISHED

02
MADE ROYAL BY THE MUGHALS
In the 16th century, Persian motifs met the looms of Banaras. Together they created kinkhab, a brocade so rich in gold and silver that it was woven for emperors.

04
MONTHS ON A SINGLE LOOM
Thread by thread, motif by motif, one bridal Banarasi can keep a weaver at the loom for weeks, sometimes months. The craft passes from parent to child, generation after generation.
THE STORY OF BANARASI
A CITY, A LOOM, A LEGACY
01
BORN IN KASHI
Banaras has been weaving for millennia. Ancient Buddhist texts already praised the fine cloth of Kashi, a name that became a byword for luxury.

03
PROTECTED BY NAME
Since 2009, the Banarasi has carried a GI tag. Only sarees woven in Varanasi and its neighbouring districts can bear the name.
